Robert Eilbott is a team leader, advocate and trainer with more than 13 years of experience advocating and providing services to developmentally disabled and severely mentally ill (SPMI) adults, as well as veterans and the formerly incarcerated facing unique barriers including stress and substance abuse challenges. He has extensive experience interfacing with governmental personnel to secure entitlement benefits including Medicaid, SSI/SSD/ Public Assistance/SNAP and HEAP. His skill set and communication skills are well-suited to assist and lead private or publicly funded organization engaged in advocating and providing services through private and governmental programs.
Policy Formulation and Advocacy
- Collaborated with Suffolk County, New York Department of Social Services on issues relating to proper assessment and placement of chronically homeless adults.
- Collaborated with specialty court New York State Justices, public defender and court-appointed attorneys on behalf of mentally disabled clients to consider alternatives to incarceration (ATI) programs.
- Created program (ROAR Track) to assist previously incarcerated clients return to community.
Training and Team Leadership
- Responsible for training individual case managers employed by Suffolk Wellness Partners Home Care.
- Consult with team of 15 care managers on plan for legal services, social and housing program placement.
SERvice Provider
- Solely responsible for intake procedure of SPMI and chronically medically challenged individuals for entry into New York State Medicaid funded Health Home since program inception.
- Assisted clients in securing of government entitlements including SSI, SSDI/ Public Assistance/ SNAP/HEAP.
- Medicaid service coordinator responsible for formulating and implementing individual service plans for developmentally disabled adults.
